DAKOTA CLASSIC MODIFIED TOUR--WITH IMCA STOCK CARS--2010 DATES & LOCATIONS ANNOUNCED..
Mandan, ND--December 20--The 21st Annual Dakota
Classic Modified Tour has selected dates and locations for the 2010 series
in July. For the IMCA Modified portion of the Tour the first race will be
on Sunday, July 11. Due to the new grandstand construction at the ND State
Fair in Minot the facility may not be ready so a contingency plan has been
created to make sure the series starts on its traditional date. If Minots
facility is not ready Mandans Dacotah Speedway will start and end the
series. A decision will be made at a meeting on February 13 so that race car
drivers know well in advance which track will host the first night of the
Tour.
On Monday, July 12 the Tour heads north of the border to the 3/8 mile Estevan Motor Speedway in Estevan, Sask. The series next travels to the 1/3 mile Williston Basin Speedway in Williston for a Tuesday/Wednesday doubleheader on July 13-14. On Thursday, Dickinsons ¼ mile Southwest Speedway hosts the July 15 event. The Tour wraps up at the 3/8 mile Dacotah Speedway in Mandan for Championship Night on Friday, July 16.
The IMCA Stock Car portion of the Tour starts on Friday, July 9--for the first time at the ¼ mile McClean County Speedway in Underwood, ND. From there the series heads east to the Pierce County Fairgrounds ¼ mile track in Rugby on Saturday, July 10. Minot or Mandan will race stocks with the Modifieds on Sunday, July 11. Estevan will host both classes on Monday, July 12. Both classes will run at Williston on Tuesday/Wednesday July 13-14. For the first time Dickinson will host Championship Night for the Stocks, along with their Modified program on Thursday, July 15.
Payouts have been increased in both classes and a national contingency prize program will also be awarded to top drivers. In addition, a points fund will be offered to the top 10 drivers in IMCA points for each of the series points championships.
